The Best Cocktails to Make at Christmas

Let’s take a look at some of the best holiday cocktail recipes that will make your celebrations even more special this year.

Mulled Wine

Nothing screams Christmas like a glass of mulled wine. For this recipe, all you need is a bottle of red wine, orange juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, and honey.

To make this delicious beverage, combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a light simmer over medium heat. Then reduce heat and let everything steep for 10 minutes before serving warm. You can also add brandy if you want an extra kick! You can also use a Slow Cooker if you have one!

Eggnog Martini

Our take on an American Christmas Classic. For this festive martini recipe, combine 1 ½ ounces of eggnog with 1 ½ ounces of vodka, 1 teaspoon of peppermint schnapps, and ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg into a shaker filled with ice cubes and shake until combined.

Then strain into two chilled martini glasses and garnish each with freshly grated nutmeg. Yum!

Gingerbread White Russian

This creamy twist on a classic white Russian is sure to impress your guests. To make it just mix 2 parts gingerbread-flavored vodka (like Stoli Gingerbread) with 2 parts heavy cream in an old-fashioned glass filled with ice cubes until smooth.

You could crush up gingerbread biscuits and top the drink with them if you can't get Gingerbread Flavoured Vodka.

Finish by topping off the drink with 1 part coffee liqueur (like Kahlua). Now you have yourself one tasty holiday cocktail!

Hot Buttered Rum

Sure to warm you up on even the coldest winter night! To make this cozy concoction, combine three-quarters cup butter (at room temperature), one cup packed light brown sugar, four teaspoons ground cinnamon, four teaspoons ground nutmeg, half teaspoon allspice in a bowl until smooth.

In each mug or glass add two tablespoons of the butter mixture, 1 ½ ounces dark rum (or brandy), and top with hot water or cider. Garnish with an optional cinnamon stick for extra flavor!

Gingerbread Martini

A perfect combination of sweet and spicy – it’s like Christmas in a glass!

To make your own Gingerbread Martini mix two ounces vodka, half an ounce each ginger liqueur and Frangelico liqueur (hazelnut liqueur), two teaspoons simple syrup (or agave syrup), four tablespoons cranberry juice cocktail in a shaker filled with ice cubes.

Shake vigorously then strain over fresh ice cubes into a chilled martini glass. Finally garnish with freshly grated nutmeg for that extra touch of Christmas cheer!

These three recipes should get your wheels turning as you think about what drinks you want to serve at your holiday parties this year. There are plenty more options out there too so don't be afraid to experiment and find the perfect festive cocktails that match your taste buds! Have fun mixing up these delicious drinks—cheers!
