Information we collect and why

Orders and delivery: We use your name, contact details, billing and delivery addresses, order details and payment-status information to process purchases, deliver products and deal with returns. This is necessary to fulfil our contract with you. We also keep relevant transaction records to meet legal and tax obligations.

Payment providers handle payment-card information through checkout. Please do not send card details to us by email.

Enquiries and customer service: We use information you provide when contacting us to answer questions and resolve problems. Depending on the enquiry, this is necessary to fulfil our contract or for our legitimate interest in providing customer support.

Newsletter subscriptions: We use your email address and subscription preferences to send marketing emails when you have consented. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Website operation and security: Technical information, such as IP address, browser information and security logs, helps operate the store, prevent fraud and investigate problems. We rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure, functioning business, subject to your rights.

Optional analytics and advertising: Where you give the required consent, browsing and interaction information can be used to understand website use, measure marketing and provide more relevant advertising.

Information needed to process and deliver an order must be provided for us to fulfil it. Newsletter subscription and consent to optional tracking are not conditions of purchasing.

Who receives information?

We share relevant information with providers needed to operate our business, including:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store and supports checkout and store services.

  • Payment providers, to process payments and help prevent fraud.

  • An Post, to deliver orders.

  • Providers supporting business email, customer communications, subscribed marketing emails and product reviews.

  • Analytics and advertising providers where the relevant features are enabled and the required consent has been obtained.

  • Professional advisers and public authorities where necessary for legal, accounting or regulatory purposes.

We aim to share only information relevant to the service or purpose involved.

Shopify’s services

Shopify processes information about visits and purchases to provide its services.

Where Shopify Network Intelligence and enhanced services are enabled, Shopify also uses information from interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify to support services such as personalisation, analytics and advertising.

See Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy for details. You can also use Shopify’s Privacy Portal to learn about and exercise rights relating to Shopify’s processing.

Cookies and tracking choices

Essential cookies support functions such as the shopping cart, checkout, security and privacy preferences.

Optional analytics and advertising technologies require consent where applicable. You can accept or reject optional categories and change your choices through the website’s cookie preferences.

Rejecting optional tracking does not prevent you from shopping. Browser controls can also manage cookies, although blocking essential cookies may affect store functions.

International processing

Some providers, including Shopify, process information outside Ireland and the European Economic Area, including in Canada and the United States.

Where required, transfers rely on recognised safeguards, such as an applicable adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses. You can contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

How long we keep information

We retain information for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Tax and accounting records are normally retained for six years, or longer where a legal obligation or ongoing matter requires it.

Customer-service correspondence is retained according to the nature of the enquiry, any continuing issue and relevant legal requirements.

Marketing details are retained while you remain subscribed. After unsubscribing, we may retain a limited record of your preference to avoid sending further marketing.

Technical information is retained according to its operational or security purpose and the relevant provider’s settings. It is not intended to be kept indefinitely.

Your rights

Subject to applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

Contact Contact@LittleRedsSauces.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before providing information. We normally respond within one month and will explain if a lawful extension is needed.

Deletion rights do not require us to remove information we must retain to meet legal obligations.

You can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The date above shows when it was last updated.
